Humanities Programme
The Programme offers an
MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation
with Translation Technology
in a wide range of language pairs, including Greek-English. While
the main focus is on various kinds of specialised translation, the
programme also includes software and e-content localisation and
places a strong emphasis on the use of translation technology where
this is appropriate. Graduates of the MSc generally have no trouble
finding work in the translation industry, while those for whom this
is of interest can go on to study for a PhD in translation at
Imperial.

Middlesex University Translation Institute
Translation provision
at Middlesex University includes the BA (Honours) in Translation,
the MA in the Theory and Practice of Translation, and PhD research
supervision in a range
of Translation
Studies topics. Teaching focuses on (i) practice in translating a
wide range of texts, (ii) Translation Theory and (iii) research
training. The Translation Institute's own translation service
provider, TEXTRA, along with undergraduate work placement modules,
provides opportunities for all students to gain additional
practical, professional experience and contacts.

School of Languages
The
MA in Interpreting and Translating
at the School of languages is designed to equip students with a
range of practical skills and the theoretical input to work as
professional
translators. Students are offered work placements and carry out
practical projects as part of the programme taught by academics that
combine professional translating, academic and research expertise.
Options available include Translation into and from Greek as well as
audio-visual translation and business Interpreting. There are
opportunities for progression to Doctoral level on completion of the
MA.

Centre for Translation Studies
The Centre offers a full time
MA in Translation
and an
MA in Audiovisual Translation
between English and Greek, designed to equip language graduates with
a comprehensive range of practical and theoretical skills needed to
work as professional translators or subtitlers, or to pursue further
research in Translation Studies on the
doctoral programme.
MA classes are taught by well-known academics—recognised
specialists
in their fields—who regularly publish in international journals, and
by experienced professional translators and subtitlers who
understand the needs of the market.

School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages
The university offers an
MA in Bilingual Translation
(Greek Main Language), aiming to train language specialists (new
graduates as well as mature / experienced students with Greek as
their main language) to a professional level in translation. The
programme constitutes one of the most practical Greek
translation
courses offered in the UK. Core modules include technical and
institutional translation and optional modules editing skills,
literary translation and subtitling. An
MA in Conference Interpreting Techniques
(with a Greek into English option only) is also offered.
